Rashad Evans will attempt to halt a three-bout skid when he faces Sam Alvey at UFC Fight Night 114 in Mexico City on Aug. 5.
The promotion’s Spanish branch announced the middleweight contest on Thursday. UFC Fight Night 114 takes place at Mexico City Arena and is headlined by a flyweight duel between Sergio Pettis and Brandon Moreno.
Evans made his 185-pound debut at UFC 209, where he suffered a split decision defeat to Daniel Kelly. The former light heavyweight champion has also fallen to Glover Teixeira and Ryan Bader during his current skid. “Suga” last won in the Octagon at UFC 167, where he stopped Chael Sonnen via TKO in the opening frame.
Alvey, meanwhile, saw a four-fight winning streak come to an end in a decision loss to Thales Leites at UFC Fight Night 108 on April 22. The 31-year-old Wisconsin native is 7-4 during his tenure with the Las Vegas-based promotion.
